Las Palmas Gran Canaria Hotels: Where to Stay in the Capital

If you want to stay in the best Las Palmas Gran Canaria hotels or apartments, you can choose from the following list where there are prices for all budgets. Most are located near or on Las Canteras beach, which we strongly believe is the best city beach in the world. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which is the capital of Gran Canaria, has milder temperatures than the south of the island. Whether you want an easy walk to the beach, entertainment, or a kitchen as part of your room it is possible to find it here.

Best Las Palmas Gran Canaria Hotels: Hotel Reina Isabel

Pampering is the reason to stay at Reina Isabel. The spa on the roof top is made for relaxation and the view is wonderful. This hotel is in a great central location to food and shopping. Las Canteras beach is the best beach in Gran Canaria because of its closeness to the hotels. The hotel has been thoroughly renovated in 2016, and it exudes class. It's staff will make your holiday special. Probably wouldn’t do half board, as there are so many restaurants to choose from nearby. It is extra for a sea view, but worth the upgrade. Book now

Best Las Palmas Gran Canaria Hotels: Hotel Santa Catalina

The Santa Catalina is a beautiful English colonial-style five star hotel, surrounded by palm trees and gardens. It was built in 1890, and the rooms are huge and elegant. You can dine al fresco with great food and drinks, but they can be pricey. Spa treatments are the prime reason to visit this hotel. Front rooms are located on the sea side for better views, although the beach and sea are really far away (10 minutes drive to Las Canteras beach). Ask staff when you book for it, or you might wind up looking at town views, which are not as lovely. This is considered one of the best Las Palmas Gran Canaria hotels.  Book now

Best Las Palmas Gran Canaria Hotels: AC Gran Canaria

When looking at different Las Palmas Gran Canaria hotels, the AC Gran Canaria is more suited to the business traveller. It is part of the Marriott chain which is very clean and modern, but if you want atmosphere look somewhere else. The hotel is in a central location near restaurants and the beach. If you are flying in they have a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. There is an upgrade charge to stay higher up in the tower. Vacationers may want to do this so that they have a prettier view. Book now

AC Hotel Iberia

AC Hotel Iberia has recently been purchased by Marriott. There has been some refurbishing done so it looks very modern and clean. The roof top pool is a favourite place to chill after a long day of business. They have conference rooms that can be had for organizing meetings. This hotel is spacious and close to shopping and restaurants. When staying away on business it is nice to use exercise equipment. You will find it has one of the best exercising areas with views of the ocean. Book now

Best Las Palmas Gran Canaria Hotels: Hotel Cristina

Hotel Cristina is located on the Canteras beach itself. At night the view from the restaurant is beautiful, with the water and lights glowing. During the day however, the hotel shows its age. While it has a five star rating, you might appreciate a more holiday hotel versus business for pleasing atmosphere. The food is decent as are the beds. There are many restaurants near the hotel if you want to spend a little less. We recommend to choose the sea view which is "priceless".  If you are choosing one of the Las Palmas Gran Canaria hotels for the best room service, this is the one. I stayed there for a week and didn't need to leave the room for food even once. Everything was nicely arranged and even the food was cooked with the ingredients I requested, as I have a few food allergies. Book now

NH Imperial Playa

The NH Imperial Playa is one of those hotels that cater more to business travelers than families or couples. It is a modern hotel with good views if you are on the sea side. The other choice is no view. The location is great as it is just by the beach, but it can be noisy. The higher up the room the better one can sleep. This is a four star hotel and the amenities reflect that. They have a well stocked breakfast bar or you can get a hot cooked omelet. Overall it does lack charm in terms of architecture, but is comfortable and filled with the right amenities. Book now

Hotel Verol

As a three star hotel Hotel Verol is very well priced. While the rooms are a good size and clean they aren’t plush. Air conditioning is one of the downsides to this location. The service though provides a staff that speaks English.  Hotel Verol is right by the beach which tends to be the reason for your Gran Canaria visit. It is worth it to book a room with a sea view, otherwise you see buildings. The only problem we had is the noise level. Since it is so close to the street one can hear everything and if you need the windows open it hampers sleeping. Book now

Hotel Apartamento Bajamar

As with most hotels in Gran Canaria you want to book a room with a balcony at Hotel Apartamento Bajamar. It offers privacy and is a good place to sun, and there are loungers there as well. The beach is only a couple of minutes away, making it good value for the money. There is a bakery around the corner that smells great and offers fresh bread every day. The area is safe and suited to couples instead of families. If you want a laid back vacation this is the hotel for it. Book now

Apartamentos Brisamar Canteras

Travelers on a budget will find the Apartamentos Brisamar Canteras quite good value for the money. The location of the apartments is its best feature, as they are very basic and clean. A beach is just a few metres away so it doesn’t matter that it has no swimming pool. There is no restaurant at the Brisamar but they have kitchenettes. They are on a promenade so eating out or cooking is very doable. If there was one complaint it is the thinness of the walls. Book now

Hotel Cantur

The Hotel Cantur is part of the Best Western chain, so you can expect a clean, modern hotel with basic amenities. A small pool and sauna are on the roof, but you are only a block from Las Canteras beach if it is crowded. The food tends to be plentiful at breakfast and dinner although not exceptional. Its location is in a lively part of the city which is very modern. If you want the true flavour of Gran Canaria, you may want to try another place. All in all though, it is worth returning to if you want a nice hotel in the city centre. Book now

Hotel Fataga

The Hotel Fataga is a four star hotel located close to the Mesa y Lopez shopping area. As a business traveler access to bars and restaurants is nice. While the hotel is very clean, the rooms are basic with comfortable sleeping beds. It is not a place you will find yourself staying in the rooms, but getting out to enjoy the area or for business in town. There is a walled deck for sunning or relaxing with a drink - just no view. Lifts take you to your room but beware, they are small.  If you have need of a conference room for a business meeting the hotel will set it up for you. Book now

Hotel Pujol

Hotel Pujol is for the budget conscious. The place is clean and comfortable with a great and helpful staff. It only has a two star rating but many guests think it should be higher. While the WI-FI in the room is a bit slow, the lobby offers some top surfing options including a comfortable place to stay. No great views of the ocean, but with the beach so close (one block away), it doesn’t really matter. Book now
